Stone Loops of Jurassica Lite

I have to confess that I’m not usually somebody that likes to blow up marbles in games. Usually I find that kind of gameplay to be fairly tedious. But I was intrigued by StoneLoops! of Jurassica when I tried the lite version recently. The game’s graphics, sound and gameplay drew me in unexpectedly and I found myself…gasp!…actually enjoying it.

Now don’t worry if you haven’t played a game like this and aren’t sure what to do. The game has an elegant and easy tutorial included with it that explains how to play. I give the developers credit for including it, I wish more games didn’t just assume that people knew how to play them. Helpful instructions are always worth their weight in gold.

The objective in Stone Loops! of Jurassica is to destroy the marbles advancing toward the mouth of dinosaur skull. If they make it into its mouth then you’ve lost. You stop the marbles by blowing them up using a gun. In Classic mode you simply shoot the marble up into the path of the advancing marbles and in Grab & Shoot you’ll need to pull a marble out of the advancing line of marbles and shoot it back up.

Oh and did I tell you that you must line up three of the same color to blow them up? Sounds pretty easy doesn’t it. Well you’d be surprised at the tension you’ll feel as you try to stop the marbles from advancing. It’s sort of like Tetris back in the old days but with better graphics and sound.

This game is awesome, unfortunately, not sure if whether it’s a scam or a bug in iTunes, but during my last update, the game was removed and is now nowhere to be found. I did pay the $2.99 for it, which is why I’m bothering with this comment, but it’s a shame cuz I did love this game. Well designed, built, and played.
