The Verdict
Target Practice is still in an apparently early state as the developer mentions in the iTunes store that they are waiting on Apple to approve updates that will allow for scoring, moving targets, timed rounds and multiple levels. But even without all of that stuff Target Practice is still worth downloading.
No, it’s not going to compete with a typical shoot em’ up game in terms of graphics. It’s not meant to, this is not a 3D shoot em’ up. This is a simulation and it’s as close to real shooting at the range as you’ll find on the iPhone right now. Gun owners, in particular, will enjoy it and non-gun owners will get a taste of basic shooting (albeit the iPhone version of it) at the range.
And since it’s free there’s no real reason not to download it and give it a shot. No pun intended.
Summary Table:
| Product: | Target Practice |
| Download Link: | iTunes Store |
| Price: | Free |
| Pros: | Probably as close to being at a real gun range as you’ll get on an iPhone. Challenging but satisfying control scheme. |
| Cons: | Simple gameplay. Not something to play for hours on end. Needs additional features to add some more playability and zest to the game. |
| Summary: | Target Practice provides a fun way to do some shooting at the range when you can’t actually get to the range. A well designed, albeit very basic, iPhone gun range simulation. |
