iPhone OS 3.0 Review
Yesterday we were finally graced with the appearance of the 3.0 version of the iPhone’s operating system. This upgrade has been in development for quite a while and has some very exciting features in it. Apple has, in fact, taken a lot of heat from the press and from some iPhone owners for not having added some of these features ages ago. Thankfully the wait is over and we can all now start to enjoy this update to the iPhone’s operating system.
I initially had an awful problem trying to update as apparently AT&T’s authentication servers were down and even though I downloaded the upgrade, I could not get it to install. Thankfully somebody posted information on how to do the install without getting stuck in AT&T’s activation hell. I just had to disconnect myInternet connection right as the install began. Ugh. Thanks for nothing AT&T.

Lost your iPhone? You're not alone!

This new release is chock full of new features, I’ll get into them in detail shortly but here’s a list of some of what you can expect to enjoy once you’ve upgraded:

Good review. Did you have any other problems with the upgrade other than having to disconnect you internet connection? Is there an exact time when the disconnect is necessary, and are there any caveats to the disconnect? (Btw, is the bird on the phone in the article a Pionus?
)
Hi Grey Bird,
I can’t remember the exact timing of the disconnect. However, I don’t think it should be a problem any more. I think it was just because of the rush of people on the day the upgrade was released. It should be fine now.
The bird is a brown head parrot. His name is Bilbo and he’s a terrific little guy. However, he frequently invades my work area to chew on my keyboard, the wires behind my computer and the wire on the cord on my trackball. He has a plastic fetish big time and can’t get enough of it to chew. So I must manage him carefully. Heh, heh.
