As human beings we all eventually have to answer the…er…call of nature. But what happens when you aren’t at home and your body suddenly needs to relieve itself? What if you’re in a place where you have absolutely no idea where the nearest toilet is? Well if you own an iPhone 3G and you have SitOrSquat installed then you’ll be able to find a place to…er…clear your cache.

Gotta go to the bathroom? Find a toilet near you fast!

SitOrSquat is a simple app to use. When you first start it it will encourage you to do a free sign up. Since the information in SitOrSquat gets better the more people participate, it’s a good idea to set up an account.

The interface is broken into 5 tabs:

Add Toilet
News
Settings

Search
The Search screen lets you find toilets at your current location or at any address or zip code you choose to search for. When you find a toilet you are interested in click it to get more details. You’ll be able to see a rating, address and phone number and/or web address and whether you need to sit or squat.

You can also browse comments, images and a description of the toilet. You can add it as a favorite or edit the toilet information. I was amused to find a Starbucks where someone had noted that it apparently had wirelessinternet. Hey, if you’re stuck sitting on the pot at a Starbucks (eeeeew …be sure to use some kind of toilet cover…don’t let it touch your bare skin!) why wouldn’t you want to browse the web on your iPhone right? Heh, heh.

Favorites
The Favorites screen lets you easily access your favorite toilets. Who wants to have to browse around when they’re in need of a toilet? Mark your favorites and they’ll always be there for when you need them. The Add Toilet tab lets you add a toilet toSitorSquat’s database. As I mentioned earlier the value of SitOrSquat depends on everybody contributing as much local toilet information as possible so have at it.
