Playing music on gadgets is all the rage with games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. And now you can play the drums for real on your iPhone 3G. Hey, who wouldn’t want to pretend to be John “Bonzo” Bonham of Led Zeppelin while poking their finger onto their iPhone’s touch screen right? Sign me up!

DigiDrummer Lite is the little brother to the more powerful paid app called DigiDrummer. DigiDrummer Lite lets you play the drums by touching your iPhone’s screen. There’s only one drum set included in DigiDrummer Lite though. If you want more you’ll have to buy the paid app for .99.

I’m no musician so I haven’t got a clue how to actually play. But I did have fun just sitting at my desk and randomly pushing each drum. There’s something so primal and satisfying about hitting drums even if it’s just with your finger tip.

Just be careful you don’t go bat-shit crazy and start mashing your iPhone 3G’s screen with a real drumstick! No, no! That’s not a good thing to do at all. I don’t think Apple will consider that part of your iPhone 3G’s warranty at all.
