One of the biggest complaints about Apple’s iPhone 3G has been the lack of landscape mode when typing an email. Viewing an email in landscape modes means tilting your iPhone 3G on its side and letting the accelerometer switch the view. Unfortunately Apple’s email program doesn’t have this feature.

Enter EasyWriter. EasyWriter is a simple application designed to provide some of the functionality that Apple’s email program doesn’t have. One of the coolest things about EasyWriter is that it lets you use adjust the text of your message using Pinch and Zoom.

If you’ve ever pinched a photo on your iPhone to expand it then you’ll know what I mean. This is a very handy feature for those of us who appreciate or need larger text. You can also put your finger over the text and hold to zoom in using a magnifying glass. And when you use landscape mode the buttons on your on-screen keyboard are slightly larger and seem easier to type on.

And don’t worry about losing your text if you get a text message or a phone call. EasyWriter will remember it and load it for you when you open the app again. And you can even use EasyWriter to reply to emails people send (you must being a reply then click the home button then open EasyWriter to write your message then click “Send to Mail” and your text will appear in the reply you previously started in Apple’s mail program).
